Avian malaria has many lesions in various organs. Lesions on pancreas are very specific. Lesions may also be present in the heart muscle (ventricle), brain, intestine, proventriculus. Lesions in proventriculus are similar to Newcastle disease. Observation of gross pathology lesions is sometimes not sufficient to make a diagnosis, other observational data are still needed in diagnosing.
